 1. What is authenticity and why do I need it?

According to the experts at CCL (Center for Creative Leadership), authenticity is best thought of as a condition or a dynamic balance.  It is not something you achieve, like an advanced degree, it is something you are continually evolving and developing.  It is a condition you are working towards in order to live in synch with your values and belief system.

When you live a life connected to your values, your beliefs and who you want to be as a person, you feel more joy, well-being, peace and comfort in your life.  People can expect and count on you to show up expressing and acting in ways consistent with who you say you are.  When you are authentic, HOW you interact and behave with the world is synch with WHO you say you are.

2. Why do leaders need authenticity?

When leaders bring their full authentic selves, without false fronts, they are more approachable, open and fully present to the needs of their team members and organizations.  They do not have to waste energy and effort on being who they are not.  They avoid burnout and disengagement.  They build trusting environments in order for team members to focus deeply, excel and give their best efforts.

This in turn leads to achieving results that are sustainable…not simply here today and gone tomorrow.  In short, when leaders are consistently who they want to be and say they will be, they have an easier time setting expectations, delivering feedback, driving results and developing people.

3. How do leaders develop authenticity?

Through communicating and relating to the people important to you. Through giving and soliciting regular feedback about who you are. Through thinking deeply about who you want be and how you want to matter to your world. Through COACHING! Through doing the work I will offer you when we are coaching.

Authentically great leaders regularly ponder and wrestle with these questions:  What is my leadership point of view?  What are my beliefs about people and how they work, show up and make an impact in the world?  Who am I, as a person, a leader, a friend and mentor?  What do I believe in…what values do I hold most deeply?  How can I bring my best self to the results for which I am held accountable?

4. What is Coaching and why do I need it?

The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

Consider the things for which you wish you had more energy, creativity and enthusiasm. Consider having discussion time with someone devoted to, for example, helping you clarify your goals, move forward or get unstuck.  Consider getting on the path to life you want to have…coaching can help you.

A coaching relationship creates the pause in your life to reflect and wonder and consider what is most important to you.  It is your opportunity to build a thinking partnership about your personal future and/or the future of your organization.  It becomes the space to create your best self….a haven for your most creative and fun self to emerge and smile again.

5. What is the coaching process, how much time will I need to devote to this process and what does it cost?

Great question!  In coach-like fashion, the answer is ‘it depends!’  It depends on your goals, your targets, the results, the issues, the hopes, wishes or dreams you wish to achieve.   We absolutely may coach for something short and sweet; a targeted issue over several phone sessions.

AND the truth is in order to create sustainable results for yourself, your teams and your organizations I recommend at minimum of 6 months with 2-3 sessions a month.  Each person is different. Often scheduling and committing to coaching sessions creates the energy you need to commit to and be accountable to yourself, your growth and your development.

I offer a variety of coaching processes and fee packages, customized to your needs.  I also accept coaching referrals directly from an organization.  Call me and schedule your free consultation!  Let’s explore the possibilities.

6. Why should I choose Cindy for my coach?  There are so many coaches out there.

First, ask for and check my references.   Next, read my impact page.

Next, schedule and complete your free consultation and then:

            • Check your gut.  Do you feel more courage to take action?
            • Check your head.  What are the facts revealing to you?
            • Check your heart.  Can you imagine sharing yourself and feelings with me?
            • Check your spirit.  Do you believe you can discover the driving focus in your life to create the purpose you yearn to have? For yourself, your teams, your organization?

Finally, ask yourself:  if not Cindy, then who?

What are you waiting for?

When will you become your most authentic self?
